Tripura Eyes Boost in Ayurvedic Healthcare After Minister Bikash Debbarma’s Visit to National Institute

Agartala, May 08, 2026: Tripura’s Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma on Friday emphasized the need to strengthen Ayurvedic healthcare infrastructure in the state following his visit to the All India Institute of Ayurveda.

During the visit, the minister also underwent a routine health check-up at the institute’s Ayurvedic hospital and held a detailed interaction with the Director and senior officials associated with the Government of India.

Debbarma said the discussions primarily focused on exploring avenues to enhance Ayurvedic healthcare services in Tripura, with an emphasis on building a more holistic, accessible, and sustainable healthcare framework for the people. He highlighted the importance of integrating traditional systems of medicine with modern healthcare to improve overall public health outcomes in the state.

The minister expressed admiration for the institute’s functioning, stating that he was deeply impressed by the professionalism, discipline, and patient-centric approach demonstrated by the doctors, medical staff, and hospital administration.

“Their dedication towards patient care truly reflects the essence and strength of India’s traditional healthcare system,” he noted.

Debbarma further indicated that the state government is keen to adopt best practices from premier institutions like the All India Institute of Ayurveda to expand and upgrade Ayurvedic facilities across Tripura.
