Agartala, June 10, 2026: Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma on Tuesday reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of former insurgents who have returned to the mainstream, stating that efforts are underway to find practical and lasting solutions to their long-pending demands.
The Minister made the remarks after presiding over a crucial meeting at the State Secretariat with representatives of the Tripura Guerrilla Returnees Demands Committee (TGRDC). Officials from various concerned departments were also present during the discussions.
According to Debbarma, the meeting focused on several demands and unresolved issues raised by the guerrilla returnees. He said the matters were reviewed in detail and discussed comprehensively with departmental officials to assess the scope for administrative action.
“The demands placed by the delegation have been given serious consideration. The concerned departments have been instructed to take prompt steps and explore practical and acceptable solutions through the necessary administrative procedures,” the Minister said.
Emphasizing the government’s approach, Debbarma stated that all issues would be addressed through dialogue, mutual trust, and within the constitutional framework. He reiterated that the State Government remains committed to protecting the legitimate interests of the people and ensuring the welfare of citizens from every section of society.
“The government is steadfast in its resolve to find permanent and effective solutions to all genuine concerns. Constructive engagement and cooperation from all stakeholders are essential for maintaining peace, harmony, and development in the state,” he added.
The Minister further said that matters relating to public welfare would continue to receive due importance and would be taken forward in a phased manner through the appropriate administrative processes, ensuring transparency and accountability in implementation.
