Modi’s Leadership Drove Reforms, Expanded Opportunity, Shaped India’s Development: Assam CM

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for becoming India’s longest-serving elected prime minister, surpassing Jawaharlal Nehru’s record of continuous tenure. Modi, who completed 12 years in office on May 26, has now served 4,399 days across three consecutive terms.

Sarma praised Modi’s leadership as a force that has driven reform, expanded opportunities, and shaped India’s development journey. In a social media post, he wrote, “History remembers milestones. Nations remember the leaders who shape them. Congratulations to Adarniya Shri @narendramodi Ji on becoming India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister. Over the past 4,399 days, his leadership has driven reform, expanded opportunity and shaped India’s development journey.”

In another message, Sarma described Modi as synonymous with India’s progress over the past 12 years. He said, “NARENDRA MODI — the name that encompasses almost all major development which India has seen in the last 12 years. Today, as Adarniya @narendramodi ji becomes the longest serving elected Prime Minister of India, a day to be etched in the annals of history, we celebrate the achievements India has made in the last 12 years and take a firm resolve to realise his vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.”

Modi’s tenure, marked by landmark reforms and ambitious national initiatives, continues to be celebrated as a defining chapter in India’s modern political history.
