Agartala, February 2, 2026: Tripura’s healthcare infrastructure is set to take a significant leap forward with the inauguration of Indoor Patient Department (IPD) services at Tripura Santiniketan Medical College and Hospital. The launch marks not just the addition of a new facility but a decisive step toward strengthening modern healthcare in Northeast India.
The hospital has already made headlines by offering Outpatient Department (OPD) services at a nominal fee of just ₹10, ensuring affordable treatment for the public. With the introduction of IPD services, patients will now have access to admission facilities, continuous medical care, and regular monitoring. Experts believe this will substantially reduce the need for patients to travel outside the state for complex treatments, surgeries, and long-term care.
One of the institution’s most distinctive features is its women-led management.
