Agartala, June 08, 2026: Surrendered members of the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) on Monday announced a 72-hour strike beginning June 12, alleging prolonged delays in the implementation of a rehabilitation agreement signed with the Centre and the state government.

The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Agartala Press Club. Among those present were ATTF President Kalendra Debbarma, NLFT President Prasenjit Debbarma, and ATTF representatives Parimal Debbarma and Omangal Debbarma.

Addressing the media, the leaders claimed that an agreement signed on September 4, 2024, had provided for an allocation of ₹250 crore for the rehabilitation of surrendered insurgents and various development initiatives. However, they alleged that despite the passage of nearly two years, the provisions of the agreement have not been implemented.

The representatives said the delay has left many surrendered former insurgents facing severe hardships. They further alleged that eight surrendered members have died due to inadequate access to healthcare and lack of sustainable livelihood opportunities.

The leaders expressed dissatisfaction with what they described as the government’s indifferent attitude, stating that demands raised by surrendered groups in the past were generally addressed within six months. Despite repeated approaches to the concerned departments seeking implementation of the accord, they claimed that no concrete steps have been taken so far.

As part of their protest programme, the surrendered NLFT and ATTF members have called a 72-hour strike from June 12. They announced that national highway and railway blockades would be organised in the Khowai and Teliamura areas on the first day of the agitation.

The leaders warned that if the government fails to initiate discussions or take positive steps within the stipulated period, they would be compelled to launch a more extensive movement in the coming days.
