Siliguri, June 4: Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta arrived at Bagdogra Airport on Thursday to begin his three-day official visit to Sikkim from June 4 to June 6, 2026.
During the visit, the minister will inspect key National Highway projects, including NH-10, NH-710 and NH-510, while also chairing review meetings on Central Government programmes, policies and infrastructure initiatives underway in the state. The agenda is aimed at assessing the progress of ongoing highway development works and evaluating the implementation of major infrastructure projects.
Tamta was received at Bagdogra Airport by officials from the Protocol Unit, Camp Bagdogra, and Liaison Officer Jigme Lachungpa, Superintendent Engineer of the Roads and Bridges Department, marking the start of his official engagements in the region.
