Tripura Minister Sudhangshu Das Assures Thorough Probe into Youth’s Death, Pushes for Road Development in Fatikroy

Agartala, June 08, 2026: Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das on Monday visited the residence of deceased youth Swagata Ghosh at Kanchanbari under the Fatikroy Assembly constituency and assured the bereaved family that a comprehensive investigation would be carried out to uncover the truth behind the tragic incident.

Swagata Ghosh, the eldest son of Sachindra Ghosh, had reportedly gone missing after leaving home on June 3. His body was recovered two days later from a water body in neighboring Dudhpur village, triggering concern and grief among local residents.

Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, the minister said the death of the young man was “truly tragic” and emphasized the need for a fair and thorough investigation. During his visit, he was accompanied by police officials from Fatikroy and Kumarghat police stations, along with local public representatives. Interacting with the family members, Das gathered details surrounding the incident and instructed police authorities to investigate every aspect of the case, including any hidden angles.

“The truth behind the incident must come to light, and the actual culprits, if any, should be brought to justice,” the minister stated. He also offered prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed solidarity with the grieving family, praying that they find strength to endure the loss.

Earlier in the day, Das visited Ward No. 5 of Krishnanagar Gram Panchayat to assess long-pending rural road issues affecting local residents. Accompanied by officials from the Kumarghat Block administration, panchayat representatives, engineers and villagers, he inspected the site and directed concerned authorities to expedite the resolution of the problems.

The minister instructed officials to take immediate steps for the construction and improvement of the road, stressing that development works should commence without delay to ease transportation difficulties faced by the local population.
