Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday expressed his delight at welcoming legendary rock band Guns N’ Roses to Guwahati on November 17, 2026, marking the group’s first-ever performance in Northeast India. The announcement comes on the heels of Post Malone’s successful concert in the state, reinforcing Assam’s growing reputation as a global live entertainment destination.
The American rock veterans will perform at NICE Grounds in Bengaluru on November 14 before heading to Khanapara Veterinary Ground in Guwahati. The concerts are part of the Bandland on Tour series, produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live. Tickets for both shows go on general sale at 11 AM on June 9, 2026, via BookMyShow, with Nightrain Fan Club members enjoying exclusive pre-sale access from 5 PM on June 8 until 10 AM on June 9.
Frontman Axl Rose, guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, and their bandmates last performed in India in May 2025, delivering a three-hour nostalgia-filled set in Mumbai. Their earlier India shows in 2012 included stops in Bengaluru and Mumbai, with support from Sikkim-origin band Girish & The Chronicles. Fans were treated to timeless hits such as “November Rain,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” and their rendition of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.”
BookMyShow Live’s chief business officer Naman Pugalia said the return of Guns N’ Roses reflects the continued growth of India’s live entertainment ecosystem. He noted that while Bengaluru has long been recognized as India’s rock capital, Guwahati’s inclusion highlights the rising demand for large-scale international performances in emerging markets. The concerts are expected to draw fans from across India and beyond, offering a unique blend of music, culture, and hospitality while boosting tourism and the local economy.
