Agartala, April 21, 2026: Following the recent announcement of the TTAADC elections results, several parts of Tripura have reportedly witnessed a deterioration in law and order, with allegations of post-poll violence surfacing from multiple areas.

According to preliminary reports, miscreants allegedly operating under the banner of the Tipra Motha party were involved in acts of vandalism and violence. Several homes were damaged, and many individuals sustained injuries during the incidents. The situation has triggered panic among residents, forcing numerous families to flee their homes in search of safety.

Officials estimate that at least 258 families across eight administrative blocks have been affected by the unrest. Many of them are currently taking shelter in safer locations, as fear continues to grip the affected regions.

In response to the crisis, Chief Minister Manik Saha has announced financial assistance for the affected families as a humanitarian measure. Each family will receive ₹25,000 as immediate relief. The state government has sanctioned ₹64.50 lakh as the first installment of this assistance.

All District Magistrates have been directed to ensure the swift disbursement of funds and oversee relief efforts on the ground. Meanwhile, authorities are continuing the process of collecting detailed data on additional affected families.

Sources indicate that the government has also initiated action under the Tripura Recovery of Damages to Public and Private Property Act, 2021. As per the provisions of the Act, compensation for damaged property will be recovered from those found responsible for the violence and redistributed among the victims.

The administration has assured that necessary steps are being taken to restore normalcy and maintain peace in the state.
