Shillong, June 3: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma stated on Wednesday that he will present a detailed roadmap at the North Eastern Council plenary to position the Northeast as a unified tourism destination. He underscored the importance of collective branding and regional cooperation to fully realize the sector’s potential.

Sangma, who leads the high-level task force on tourism for the region, explained that the report will highlight strategies for the eight northeastern states to jointly market themselves and capitalize on their combined strengths to emerge as a prominent tourism hub.

He remarked that the focus will be on presenting the Northeast as a single destination rather than individual states, stressing that such an approach would create a stronger identity and greater opportunities for growth in the tourism sector.
