In a major breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, the Naharlagun Police have dismantled an inter-state drug peddling network, arresting five individuals linked to the illicit trade. The operation, which targeted a key drug distribution ring, is part of the ongoing crackdown on drug abuse across Arunachal Pradesh.
The arrested suspects are believed to have been involved in smuggling narcotics into the state. Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify other members of the network and trace the origin of the drugs.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu praised the police for their prompt action, reiterating the state government’s firm stance against drug abuse. “This operation sends a strong message: We will leave no stone unturned in striking at the roots of the drug problem,” Khandu said in a tweet. He also urged the state’s youth to resist the lure of drugs, warning that they can destroy lives and futures.
