Shillong, Dec 17: A tragic incident occurred in the Mynnar Jirang area of Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya, late last night, resulting in the loss of four elderly men from Jirang village.

The victims were traveling in a truck carrying firewood when it overturned on a hilly road, approximately 200 meters from the main road. One person was injured in the accident and is currently receiving medical treatment in Shillong.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for necessary formalities. Local MLA of Jirang, Sosthenes Sohtun, visited the families today to offer condolences and support.
