Armed miscreants launched a series of attacks from the hilltops of Kangpokpi district today, targeting several peripheral areas in Imphal East district, including Sanasabi and Thamnapokpi. Two people, including a police personnel were injured.

The injured Police personnel, identified as K. Haridash (37), sustained a bullet wound to his left shoulder. He was rushed to the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences at around 3:30 PM. Hospital authorities stated that he will undergo minor surgery, with his condition under observation.

A village volunteer also suffered minor injuries to his hands during the clash. He was taken to a private hospital and is reported to be out of danger. The incident has heightened tensions in the area as authorities continue their investigation.
