National Training Programme For Supervisors And BLOs Conducted In Tawang

A National Training Programme for Supervisors and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of the 2-Tawang (ST) Assembly Constituency was held today at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office conference hall in Tawang. The training focused on strengthening the election process by updating BLOs on the latest guidelines and digital tools from the Election Commission of India.

Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo, IAS, inaugurated the programme. The session was attended by Electoral Registration Officer Tsering Choden, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer Sangey Norbu, election officials, and participating BLOs and Supervisors.

In her keynote address, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the essential role of BLOs in maintaining accurate electoral rolls and ensuring a smooth electoral process. She urged participants to fully utilize the training to improve their skills and serve the democratic process effectively.

Electoral Registration Officer Tsering Choden welcomed the attendees and mentioned that similar training sessions for BLOs of 1-Lungla (ST) and 3-Mukto (ST) Assembly Constituencies were conducted earlier in July.

The technical session was led by Dr. Honjon Perme, State Level Master Trainer and Assistant Commissioner, who provided detailed guidance on BLO duties through case studies and presentations.

Three BLOs who recently attended a national-level programme at the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) also shared their experiences.

The training concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session to prepare BLOs for upcoming election activities.
