Arunachal Wins Big At India Today Tourism Awards 2026: Siang River Rafting, Lumpo Homestay Honoured

Arunachal Pradesh secured national recognition at the India Today Tourism Survey & Awards 2026, with Siang River Rafting winning the Editor’s Choice Award for Adventure Destination and Nawang Chotta Homestay in Lumpo Village receiving the Special Award for Tribal Homestays.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein extended his heartiest congratulations to the Department of Tourism, tourism stakeholders, local communities, and all contributors who have showcased the state’s unique beauty, culture, and hospitality.

“These recognitions reflect the growing appeal of Arunachal Pradesh as a world-class destination for adventure, culture and authentic travel experiences,” Mein said.

He noted that the awards highlight the dedication of the state’s people and the success of community driven tourism initiatives. These efforts are creating livelihood opportunities while preserving Arunachal’s rich heritage.

“May this achievement inspire us to continue promoting sustainable and responsible tourism across the State,” the Deputy Chief Minister added.

The awards underline Arunachal’s emergence on the national tourism map, driven by its rivers, landscapes, tribal traditions, and community led hospitality models like homestays.
