Arunachal Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein And Assam Minister Atul Bora Hold Talks On Excise, Border Cooperation

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein held a productive meeting today with Atul Bora, Assam Minister for Panchayati Raj & Rural Development, Excise, Border Protection and Development, along with senior officials of the Excise Departments from both Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

The discussions centered on enhancing inter-state coordination and sharing best practices in excise administration. Key focus areas included strengthening enforcement mechanisms, preventing illicit trade, improving revenue administration, and drawing a roadmap for future collaboration through joint initiatives and periodic reviews.

DCM Mein said that as neighbouring states bound by shared interests and responsibilities, stronger institutional partnerships and continuous dialogue are essential to address emerging challenges and ensure effective governance.

“I am confident that today’s deliberations will further deepen the spirit of cooperation between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and contribute to more efficient and people centric administration,” Mein stated.

He extended sincere gratitude to Minister Atul Bora and the Assam delegation for their valuable participation and said he looks forward to continued collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

The meeting marks another step in deepening Assam-Arunachal ties on administrative and enforcement fronts, particularly in border and excise-related matters.
