Cleanliness And Hygiene Reflect Mizoram’s Identity, Says CM Lalduhoma

Aizawl, June 17: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma emphasized the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in enhancing the state’s reputation as he attended the handover of a Garbage Tipper donated by the Formosa Foundation to Joint YMA Thenzawl. The programme, held at the Joint YMA Hall in Bazar Veng, was also attended by MLA Baryl Vanneihsangi.

In his address, the Chief Minister noted that visitors often praise Mizoram for its clean and well-maintained environment, which he said reflects positively on both the state and its people. He urged citizens to continue prioritising cleanliness, especially in Thenzawl, which has become one of Mizoram’s most popular tourist destinations. Lalduhoma added that the donation of the Garbage Tipper would strengthen local waste management efforts and help keep the town attractive to travellers. He expressed gratitude to the Formosa Foundation for its ongoing contributions to Mizoram’s development and welfare.

MLA Baryl Vanneihsangi emphasised that cleanliness not only safeguards public health but also enhances the appeal of a place. With Thenzawl drawing increasing numbers of tourists, she stressed the need for effective waste management to set an example for other towns.

The event was chaired by Lalmuanpuia, President of Joint YMA Thenzawl, with a welcome address by Samuel Lalrinpuia, Secretary of Vantawng Group YMA. Jonathan Lalremruata, Chairman of the Formosa Foundation, also spoke, while the handover was conducted under the guidance of Clinton Sherwood, Legal Advisor of the Foundation.
