Sikkim MP Indra Hang Subba Participates In Joint Parliamentary Committee Study Visit In Delhi

Indra Hang Subba, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Sikkim and a member of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) examining the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill, the Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2025, and the Government of Union Territories (Amendment) Bill, 2025, participated in the Committee’s study visit and consultations in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The study visit was conducted under the chairpersonship of Aparajita Sarangi, Member of Parliament and Chairperson of the Joint Parliamentary Committee. As part of the programme, the Committee held a series of consultations with key stakeholders at the Delhi Secretariat.

During the visit, the Committee interacted with representatives of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Law and Justice, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), and civil society organisation Common Cause.

The Committee also met the Chief Minister of Delhi to discuss issues related to governance, administration, and the potential implications of the proposed legislative amendments.

The study visit was undertaken as part of the Committee’s ongoing examination of the Bills, with the objective of conducting a comprehensive review and formulating recommendations for consideration by Parliament.
