Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh flagged off the ‘Run for Unity’ marathon from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal on Wednesday, celebrating National Unity Day in honor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision of a united India.
Taking to social media platform X, the Chief Minister expressed the significance of the event, stating, “This run is a powerful reminder of our commitment to unity and harmony. Let every stride today reinforce our shared bond as one nation, one people.”
The marathon saw enthusiastic participation from people across Manipur, including students, government officials, and representatives from various organizations, all joining in to promote the spirit of national integration. National Unity Day, observed annually on October 31, commemorates Sardar Patel’s instrumental role in uniting India’s princely states and fostering the idea of a united India.
