Arunachal CM Pema Khandu Attends Chhedar Yak Puja Of Monpa Community In Tawang

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu participated in the Chhedar Yak Puja of the Monpa community in Tawang.

The ritual involves the ceremonial release of a yak into the wild, accompanied by a collective pledge that no harm will be caused to the animal until its natural death. The practice is associated with values of compassion and coexistence with nature.

During the event, the Chief Minister stated that the tradition reflects harmony between humans and nature and symbolizes respect for all living beings.

Minister Nyato Dukam, Minister Kento Jini, and Member of Parliament Tapir Gao were also present at the occasion.
