Itanagar, April 7: Arunachal Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Minister Gabriel Denang Wangsu called for fair distribution of petroleum products across the state and warned against black marketing and hoarding during a high-level review meeting on Monday.

The meeting, attended by Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta, reviewed the availability of motor spirit (MS), high-speed diesel (HSD), and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Officials were urged to coordinate closely and address any local supply issues immediately, according to an official release issued Tuesday.

Minister Wangsu stated that strict action under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, would be taken against those involved in hoarding or black marketing LPG and other fuels. “District-wise reports show supplies are stable. We are streamlining distribution for long-term reliability,” he said in a social media post following the meeting.

Chief Secretary Gupta reaffirmed the government’s commitment to uninterrupted fuel access and prompt resolution of any disruptions. Food and Civil Supplies Secretary Kanto Dangen reported that actions from a February 13 meeting had ensured adequate stocks and normal distribution across districts.

The state coordinator of oil marketing companies confirmed smooth transportation and no bottlenecks, assuring sufficient fuel supply. District administrations have been instructed to remain ready to address any fuel-related issues.

Officials appealed to the public to avoid panic buying, disregard rumors, and rely only on verified information.
