Bangladeshi Infiltrator Held By Assam Police, Pushed Back Across Border

Guwahati, Dec 17: Assam Police arrested a Bangladeshi national on Monday for illegally crossing the India-Bangladesh border. The infiltrator, identified as Asma Akther, was detained near the international border and later pushed back to Bangladesh.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the arrest in a post on X, stating that the police maintained alertness along the border. “Maintaining alert along the border, one illegal Bangladeshi national was apprehended by @assampolice today near the international border and pushed back,” Sarma wrote.
