Guwahati, Jun 21: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for showcasing his cultural connection with Assam by donning the traditional Assamese Gamusa during the International Yoga Day 2025 celebrations.

Taking to his official X handle, Sarma wrote, “Assam in his heart, Assam in his mind, Assam is his priority!”

He further remarked, “Another year and another major event where Adarniya Shri @narendramodi ji dons the Assamese Gamusa with pride.”

Sarma added that no other Prime Minister has ever connected with Assam the way Modi has, underscoring the Prime Minister’s repeated gestures of cultural respect and inclusion.
