Manipur: MoS Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar Reviews Development Projects In Noney District

Minister of State for Home Affairs, Government of India, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, visited Noney District Headquarters today to review ongoing development projects and interact with district officials and local communities.

The Minister arrived at Longmai Common Ground, which served as a temporary helipad, around 10:20 a.m., where he was warmly received by Dr. Sharath Chandra Arroju, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Noney, Namsadai Peter Kamei, Superintendent of Police, and other district officials.

Upon reaching the DC Office Complex, the Minister inspected various stalls set up by departments showcasing developmental activities and government schemes implemented under Noney District.

Later, the Minister chaired a review meeting with the DC, SP, and heads of various departments at the conference hall. During the meeting, officials briefed him on the progress of central and state-sponsored projects and shared the challenges they face in executing development initiatives. They also appealed for intervention from the Ministry of Home Affairs to facilitate smoother and more effective implementation of projects in the district.

As part of his visit, the Minister also held an interaction session with public leaders, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and local community representatives, where he heard their suggestions and concerns.

The day’s programme concluded with a sapling plantation drive and a visit to the world’s highest railway pier bridge at Noney, a key infrastructure project symbolizing India’s engineering excellence.

The Minister’s visit underscored the Centre’s commitment to accelerating development and ensuring effective governance in the hill districts of Manipur.
