Mangan, Dec 27:The Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (A.H&VS) Department in Mangan District, Sikkim, has intensified preparations for the upcoming winter season to support local highland communities and their livestock. The district’s high-altitude areas are often hit by severe weather, including heavy snowfall, road blockages, and isolation, creating challenges for both residents and animals.

In anticipation of these conditions, the department has distributed essential supplies, including animal feed, mineral supplements, and medicines, to remote villages. A.H&VS personnel have also conducted outreach in areas like Muguthang, Dongkong, Gurudongmar, Byamzey, and Domang, providing vital information and raising awareness to ensure the safety and well-being of both people and livestock during the harsh winter months.
