Gangtok, May 18: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Monday distributed benefits under several welfare schemes at an event held at Manan Kendra, covering beneficiaries from across the state.
The assistance was extended under various initiatives of the Chief Minister’s Office, including the Nar Bahadur Bhandari Fellowship, laptop distribution programme, Sikkim Garib Aawas Yojana (SGAY), Chief Minister’s Self Employment Assistance Scheme (CMSEAS), Chief Minister’s Education Assistance Scheme (CMEAS), and financial support through the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Grant (CMDG).

These schemes are aimed at supporting education, self-employment, agriculture, housing under SGAY, publication of books, repair and renovation works, and providing digital access to students. The initiatives also include support for infrastructure development, including religious establishments and other public welfare activities.

Officials said the programmes are part of ongoing efforts to promote welfare-oriented development and extend assistance to different sections of society across Sikkim.
