Mizoram Tourism Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar inaugurated the Mizo Sports Hall of Fame at Bungzung on Wednesday. The event was attended by MLAs Ramthanmawia (East Tuipui AC) and Jeje Lalpekhlua (South Tuipui AC).
The initiative, organized by the Bungzung community in collaboration with the MSHoF Committee, aims to honor distinguished sportspersons from the state. Minister Hmar highlighted that the project is expected to inspire younger generations to pursue excellence in sports.
During the inauguration, he announced an allocation of ₹10 lakh for further development of the Hall of Fame premises for the current financial year. He also noted that ₹15 lakh has been earmarked for the construction of either a Volleyball Court or Futsal Ground, depending on the community’s preference.
